Dr. Samuel Alfano

Samuel Alfano DO MMM CPE, is currently the regional Chief Medical Informatics Officer for Catholic Health Initiatives, based in Denver Colorado. He is one of several Vice Presidents who are responsible for the design, implementation, and training for Electronic Medical Records throughout their over 100 Hospitals in 16 states. He currently has responsibility for Allscripts EHR implementation and use in over 450 sites with 2500 Physician users. He is also responsible for the rollout of CHI’s patient portal across these offices and in their Meditech and Cerner hospitals. Prior to this he was the Chief Medical Officer for Saint Joseph Health Network in Reading, Pa. from 2002 to 2011. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, and Clinical Informatics. He lives in Reading, Pa. with his wife Laura.
